No Place Like Home, a film about a ten-year-old girl living with her family in hotels and homeless shelters in Seattle, was broadcast nationally on PBS. The film was screened at the Venice Film Festival and festivals in Cork, Lisbon, Melbourne, Sydney, Paris, and St. Petersburg, Russia, among others. It won film festival awards in Chicago, San Francisco, and Atlanta. She is also the director and co-producer of Take This Heart, a feature documentary broadcast on PBS in 1998. Take This Heart chronicles the stories of three young boys in foster care. The film won the Anna Quindlen Award for Excellence in Journalism.
